Succession
Primary
With the heat of the Sonoran forest fires can become common in the parks more tree filled areas. This will destroy vast expanses of land and destroy the ecosystem and destroy the soil. Fortunately most tress in the area are adapted that their roots will live if their tops are burned. When forced to flee most avian species will return as the often build hollows into tress instead of making nests. Because of the winds of the desert many seeds will come to the land. Used to the dryness of the desert plants will be quick to reproduce.

Secondary
A possible secondary succession is that of an extreme drought or rainfall. The plants of this region are used to a equilibrium of water. If that is disrupted by no water at all or so much it kills the plant there would be 2 possible consequences. One if there was a drought the soil remains but plant life is lower levels and resources become scarce. All populations decrease as a result. Option 2 is in the case of rainfall the sand would loosen up so much it would kill the root systems of all the plants. This would cause loss of shelter to most organisms and this would be the competing resource. the larger root systems would survive better and the nesting animals would have a better chance to survive than burrowing ones.
