Predation
One example is that between the Western Diamondback and the Greater Roadrunner. The Diamondback is one of the main food sources for the roadrunner. The roadrunner will make a running sprint for the snake with its superior eyesight. But it must be cautions as the venomous snake does prove a threat to the roadrunner along with its fast striking speed. The roadrunner is the perfect predator for this relationship because it keeps the snake population down because while the snake also eats the eggs of its young. And because the snake consumes a large amount of small rodents the roadrunner decreases the snake population stabilizing the rodent population. If the rodent population were to grow to large the plant life of the desert would be consumed completely.

Another example is the relationship between the Lesser Long nose Bat and the Stink Beetle. The bat consumes a large amount of insects most notably the Stink Beetle. The Stink Beetle will focus on consuming producers. While it would not severely damage a the cactus population because of it large breeding size the beetle would decimate the shrubbery and other small bushes in an epidemic. The bat stabilizes and stops a population boom of this size from happening.
